No matter which of the world I tend to visit, I always bring back a fridge magnet among other souvenirs. However, on my recent trip to the Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya, I had an extra day in hand at the capital—Nairobi. Having seen animals, from African elephants, lions and cheetahs, just roam about freely, I decided to forego the magnet and instead be on the look out for something which would remind me of those memorable game drives in the wilderness of Masai Mara. With coffee in my hand, I was casually roaming about a mall when I happened to chance upon a store selling Kenyan products. And, instantly, the little wooden elephant caught my eye. The curve of the trunk, the wooden gait and its adorableness combined to make me realise how perfect a souvenir it was. Currently, it’s on my desk at work and everytime I glance at it, my mind wanders to those few days I spent in the wild and loved every moment of it. Approx. 300.
