Good news for trained runners and fitness enthusiasts as Kolkata gets its distance-running event – the Tata Steel Kolkata 25K.  Race categories include the 25K for amateurs and professionals with an entry fee of Rs 600, Open 10K also for amateurs has an entry fee of Rs 500, Ananda Run for 6km has an entry fee of Rs 300, Senior Citizens’ Run for 4km and Champions with Disability also for 4km have an entry fee of Rs 200. Fees for overseas applicants are different. The prize money starts from Rs 5,000 and goes up to Rs 2.5 lakh. Reebok Running Squad is imparting free professional training to participants. There are age restrictions in various categories. Details are available on the website. Registration ends on December 12, 2014.
