The ranking is based on a passport’s visa-free score- the number of countries a passport holder can visit visa-free or with visa on arrival.
The Singapore passport was propelled to the top spot after Paraguay removed visa requirements for the Asian country’s citizens, giving it a total score of 159.
European passports have usually been the most powerful. In fact, Germany had topped the past two years but since early 2017, it shared the top spot with Singapore. The US passport has been steadily falling in ranks and is currently at joint seventh with Canada, Ireland and Malaysia with a visa-free score of 154.
The last place on the list is occupied by Afghanistan with a visa-free score of 22.
