Lounges are to the weary traveller, what, um, chicken soup is to the soul. What you need then, weary traveller, is a friend by way of an app called LoungeBuddy. The app uses its database of airport lounges at over 800 airports across the world to be of assistance while you’re waiting impatiently for that boarding call. First, you’ll have to answer some questions: you’ll list how you usually get access to these rooms, just to avoid any unnecessary embarrassment. (For instance, it will list first class-only lounges only if you’re flying first class.) Once you’re done with that, either create a trip, where you choose your airline, class, airport of origin and destination airport, or choose from a list of airports. After that, just click on the airport to view all lounges available with their rates, amenities, opening hours, pictures and even testimonies from other travellers. All of this is presented in a smooth and attractive user-interface. You can even purchase access to the lounges using this app, and share information for the benefit of other travel-weary souls.
