I have had one of the most luxurious experiences at Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc at Antibes in France. I have stayed at many high-end places around the world, but this has been the most utterly fabulous. I went there after Cannes to escape the hustle-and-bustle, and felt so luxuriously pampered. The hotel is close enough to La Croisette to jet across to it by speedboat, and far enough away for people to bask and reel in the heady after-effects of the cinematic highs at Cannes. The restaurants are famed for their exquisite cuisine made with the finest quality produce; the Mediterranean at its best. A private pontoon gives direct access to the sea, and the infinity pool is refreshed with natural sea water. A stay here is like life in another world—even another era. You can be unmindful of everything bad and revel in the moment of complete hedonism. No wonder Pablo Picasso felt most inspired here.
