OT: Which is your favourite hotel in the world?
Paula Abdul: I would go with the Marina Bay Sands (from S$379; www.marinabaysands.com) in Singapore because there is only one word to describe it—blockbuster!
OT: Could you tell us in what way?
Paula Abdul: In every way that I can think of. The fact that it towers over the Singapore skyline is one. I love the landscaping that they have done in the Sky Park too. Wouldn’t it be an ideal sunset, spent lounging by their infinity pool on top of the world with a drink in your hand?
OT: Dinner to follow the cocktails?
Paula Abdul: I’m not that much of a fussy eater. Though I definitely enjoyed the barramundi that the chef at Waku Ghin, one of their restaurants, did for me.
OT: So bedside or poolside, what’s best for lounging?
Paula Abdul: The rooms have a beautiful view too. You might call me vain, but I love the size of their bathrooms! Not many hotels that I go to can afford a bathtub bang in the middle of the large space. It is truly epic! The housekeeping is great too and they watch out for small details.
OT: With service to match?
Paula Abdul: Well, guest relations could do with some pulling up of the socks…
OT: Oh! But you would still go back?
Paula Abdul: The one reason why I would want to go back is the Banyan Tree spa. I will perhaps request for a permanent bed within this amazing oasis next time.
