OT: Where is home? Kristen Stewart: I grew up in Los Angeles, California, and I loved what LA
OT: Any suggestions for tourists visiting LA…
Kristen Stewart: I’d say the theatres, the churches and Hollywood.
OT: What’s your favourite kind of holiday?
Kristen Stewart: One that allows me to relax — a peaceful holiday. Actually, it has been quite a while since I took a vacation. So right now, any holiday would be a good holiday.
OT: Is there a place that you have travelled to both for work and pleasure?
Kristen Stewart: That has never happened, unfortunately. Whenever I’ve travelled as an actor, I’ve been busy with work and I’ve never really had time for pleasure. Besides, we can’t loaf around — we have to avoid being mobbed.
OT: Did you travel extensively to shoot The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2?
Kristen Stewart: Not really. Most of it was filmed inside studios in the US (at Baton Rouge, Louisiana) and Canada (Vancouver).
OT: Your movies have a huge fan following in India…
Kristen Stewart: Yes, we were all so delighted to hear that there are so many fans in your country. I have never had a chance to visit India but I’d love to.
OT: Where do you want to go next?
Kristen Stewart: A swim in the [Blue] Lagoon at the Iceland Airwaves festival in Reykjavík will be divine, I think.
OT: Are you a foodie? Which is your favourite destination food-wise?
Kristen Stewart: Nope, I am not much of a foodie.
OT: What sort of books do you read when travelling? What are you reading right now?
Kristen Stewart: It’s so hard when you can only pick a couple of favourites… It always seems like you are trying too hard to look like an intellectual. East of Eden by John Steinbeck is one of my favourite books. It covers fundamental ideas of good and evil. I also love [Albert] Camus; The Stranger is one of my favourite books. Kurt Vonnegut too. And I just read Hot Water Music, which is a collection of short stories by Charles Bukowski. I don’t normally like his work because it’s usually rambling and drunk, but these stories were so good.
OT: What are the five things you always pack?
Kristen Stewart: A waterproof backpack, comfortable shoes, towels, a diary and my favourite books.
