OT: Which is your favourite hotel in the world?
Heidi Klum: I absolutely
OT: Why the love?
Heidi Klum: Resembling a mosque from the outside and a really grand palace from the inside, it is on the private estate of Sir James Goldsmith and is surrounded by lush greenery, with panoramic views of the hills and the sea. But the best bit is that it is a stone’s throw from pristine white beaches!
OT: What do you do there?
Heidi Klum: The beach is definitely the centrepiece of the estate. Most of the activities are around the beach too — whether it is beachcombing, which I do all the time or snorkelling, kayaking and equestrian sports — they have something for everyone. I, for one, love relaxing on a chaise. My kids really go bananas with their activities involving nature and animals, as well as marine, terrestrial and equestrian activities.
OT: Your favourite perch on the estate?
Heidi Klum: The living quarters are all amazing. The villas are done up in unique shades that take inspiration from the serene surroundings. Open terraces, swimming pools, deck chairs and comfortable furniture grace each of the nine casitas.
OT: Good eating too?
Heidi Klum: Anything that is fresh from a field to your plate has to be amazing. And that is what happens at Cuixmala. I am in love with their gazpacho — it does amazing things to me! You have to try their collection of cheeses, which come straight from the El Jabali Ranch. I am also sold on their fresh fruit sorbets. I am always calling up the chef for recipes when I return home.
OT: Going back again?
Heidi Klum: I wouldn’t mind living there forever!
