OT: What does a holiday mean to you?
Arjun Kapoor: Full, total and absolute enjoyment. If
OT: Your most memorable holiday…
Arjun Kapoor: Is yet to happen…I don’t already want to say that I have ‘been there, done that’, when there are so many places in the world to see and so much more to experience around the world. I will have to travel more and see more of the world before I can answer this question.
OT: Any memorable trips at all?
Arjun Kapoor: When I was shooting for Ishaqzaade in Lucknow, I found the city very interesting. The food, of course, was a huge temptation, and I did my best to stay miles away from it, but gave in from time to time. I enjoyed my time in Kuala Lumpur too; I was there recently.
OT: What do you enjoy most on holidays?
Arjun Kapoor: I love to chill. Some years ago I would have said ‘eat’, but I have gotten over that, thankfully. I like to meet new people and make friends. If I am alone, I am okay with a movie marathon that could last days. I usually order room service and catch up on cinema if I am too stressed. This also happens on long flights; I end up watching at least three to four films in a row.
OT: Any travel tips?
Arjun Kapoor: I have this peculiar habit of reconfirming everything to do with my trip on my own, right from the hotel bookings to the travel tickets. I like to be prepared, and so I do most of my research about the place. I think it is very important to be ready for any destination before you reach there.
OT: What do you shop for while on holiday?
Arjun Kapoor: I am not a souvenir person, but I splurge on shoes! And clothes. I also pick up film DVDs and sometimes stuff for my sister.
OT: The destination at the top of your travel wishlist is…
Arjun Kapoor: Ladakh. I’d love to go there, even if it’s for work. I have heard so much about it and seen so many photographs that I am dying to go there and explore it completely. If I can, perhaps on foot.
