Head over to the sandy shores of Alibaug, about 100km from Mumbai, for the town’s very first music and arts festival, Nariyal Paani, to be held on February 21. On the musical front, enjoy a blend of soul, jazz, funk, blues and hip-hop, with the Jass B’stards, Kefaya, Madfingers feat Rodney Branigan, The Vivienne Pocha Ensemble, Bombay Bassment & The Funk Fraternity, Kabir Café, Stella By Starlight, Dharavi Rocks and ChandBibi And The Waste Candidates in attendance. Take part in some interactive fun such as archery, star-gazing or bangle making.  And in between enjoy the local cuisine or dishes from some select restaurants. The promoters have also made arrangements for commuting to and from Mumbai (by car or ferry) as well as local rickshaws plying to and from the venue; contact Grillo, 080-30752782. The festival is a kid-friendly one, so there’s nothing to stop you from making this a family weekend outing too.
