Between Feb 10 and 13, the sunshine state of India will celebrate the annual Goa Carnaval, a legacy of its Portuguese era. Held in different cities of Goa, the festival includes colourful parades with huge floats, the dances and the Goan traditional music among other things.
While the float parade winds down the street, with the mythical King Momo accompanied by his queen and entourage leading the procession, visitors—some gaily attired—too join in the merriment, singing and dancing with passing floats. Of course, be ready to handle the crowd and the traffic jam.
The Float parades will be held in  Panjim on February 10, in Margao on February 11, in Vasco on February 12 and in Mapusa on February 13.
