If you thought the flora and fauna in and around Odisha’s Chilika Lake weren’t enough reasons to visit the lake, we have a clincher. The lake is all set to become a stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) destination. Hawaii’s premier sport, SUP is now a global sport; it allows participants to paddle standing up in contrast to lying prone or kneeling. To attract water sports enthusiasts from the world over, Odisha Tourism has announced that facilities such as budget accommodation, public toilets and drinking water fountains will be developed in the area. Time to pack our bathing suits, we think.
