Here are some sight-seeing tips to make the most of your stay in Tel Aviv
Jaffa Port & Bazaar
This ancient port on the Mediterranean Sea is located in Jaffa, the oldest part of Tel Aviv. History goes back to three millennia when we talk about Jaffa and its port. Still functional, it is now a small fishing port with restaurant and cafés that are very popular among the locals as well as tourists. Jaffa is a beautiful mix of old and new. When in the ancient city, visit the Jaffa flea market. The market has been one of the most popular tourist places in Tel Aviv with people thronging to find all things old and unique.
Beaches
Along Tel Aviv-Yafo coastline, there are 13 beaches, out of which, Hilton Beach, Jerusalem Beach, Gordon Beach, Bograshov Beach and Mezizim Beach take the top five positions. Hilton Beach is a great place for water sports; Jerusalem Beach is wildly popular for matkot, a ball game similar to beach tennis; Gordon Beach for great food and beach parties; Bograshov Beach for its fantastic view of the Mediterranean Sea on one side and the bustling Tel Aviv on the other; and Mezizim Beach for its great beachside eateries and great atmosphere, and all these in close proximity to Tel Aviv Port.
Ramat Gan Safari
Originally known as Zoological Centre Tel Aviv-Ramat Gan, this 250-acre site has a drive-through African Safari and an outdoor zoo. With animals like hippo, lion, African and Asian elephant, gorilla, Komodo Dragon, to name a few, the zoo has arguably the largest collection of wildlife in human care.
Tel Aviv Port
This entertainment district in Tel Aviv is wildly popular with tourists, not only as a cool place to hang out but also because of innovative transformations in terms of infrastructure. Now the port is bustling with quirky boardwalks, attractive landscaping work and numerous recreational centres.
