Polar Park, the world’s most northerly wildlife park, lies 72km from the harbour town of Narvik, in northern Norway. The park is home to native Arctic animals including wolverines, arctic foxes, bears, lynx, reindeer and wolves. The Wolf Lodge (polarpark.no/wolflodge.html) lies within a huge arctic wolf enclosure in the park. You reach the lodge through a tunnel from beyond the outer fence. Watch or photograph the wolves that roam outside your window—the lodge has large windows on three sides so that the wolves can see you just as you see them.An expert guide takes visitors to an enclosure where they are greeted with a gentle lick to the face by wolves that have grown up in captivity and are used to human contact. The Wolf Lodge can accommodate up to 10 guests. A one-night stay package also includes a Norwegian three-course dinner, Norwegian snacks, cheese and fruits and breakfast. A host will stay with guests in the lodge for the entire duration of the visit. For package price, you have to contact the Lodge directly.
