Mountain junkies in New Delhi, now’s your chance to see some of the most acclaimed mountain films in the world. The Banff Mountain Film Festival will come to the capital on November 11, and you can see 9 great alpine movies at the Stein Auditorium at The Indian Habitat Centre. Organised by The Himalayan Club (himalayanclub.org), the festival has been travelling through India since March of this year. The Delhi screening will be followed by a final screening at the Khincha Auditorium at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Bengaluru on November 19. The highlight of the festival is the 40min movie A Line Across The Sky. It tells the story of climbers Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell’s epic traverse of the Fitzroy Ridge in Patagonia. Long considered an impossible climb, the traverse spans the Fitzroy Peak and its 7 sister peaks at one go! The other films take you on adventures to places as varied as Iceland, the Isle of Man, Mexico, the Dolomites and the Alps. For more information, check out the synopsis here.
