I am never going to be the one to question Optimus Prime’s choice of Bumblebee because the
The restro-pub, complete with chains, cogwheels on the walls, lights dangling from the ceiling, ropes, wood and metal works, oozes character. And the menu is an adventurous array of global cuisine that is both bold and classy.
You know which makes for great bar food? Roasted spicy makhana (foxnuts/lotus seeds). And speaking of starters, I spied something called Pataka Toasters on the menu—Naga chilli, cheddar cheese and oats toast. Now, I know my chillies and I wondered if the infamous fiery ones were something the city was ready for. Took a bite and knew it wasn’t what it said it was. Turns out, they did start with real Naga chillies but not many could handle the heat. So if you like oats, cheddar and harmless red chilly flakes, go for this.
There was something strangely satisfying about chugging Hoegaarden and taking bites of Thai bhel (this is normal desi bhel with a touch of Thai condiments). If you want to end the Indo-Thai confusion, then try the spicy avocado maki sushi. I highly recommend the grilled jumbo prawns, served with mashed potatoes, grilled/roasted vegetables and a side portion of mesclun salad. For those who want to go Indian, try the Old Monk ki raan—a leg of lamb braised overnight and flambéed with rum and served with burhani naan. I took a bite and I must say that in MOB, food will not disappoint you.
The restro-pub is great if you are a fan of pop settings, cocktails, craft beers and great food. The first floor is a live floor, whereas, bars are on the ground and second floor.
