Q: We are a group of five couples planning a weeklong trip to Thailand in June 2017. We plan to visit both sets of islands—those on the Andaman Sea and those in the Gulf of Thailand and a day at Bangkok. Our budget, excluding airfare, is 90,000 per couple. Please suggest an itinerary.

Marco Says:
If you’ve read my responses above, you’ll have noticed that I am grumpy about being asked to provide itineraries. But this one’s a no-brainer: fly into Bangkok and take a connecting flight to Phuket; spend three days here and pack in a day trip to Koh Phi Phi. That’s your Andaman Sea coastal experience, where you’ll have done your snorkelling and viewed its dramatic karst outcrops. Next take a flight to Koh Samui, to compare and contrast sea and sand. After two days here, fly back to Bangkok, spend a day, shop and eat till you can take no more, and head home.
