A fight to protect one’s territory is thrilling to watch in the animal kingdom. This memorable fight was between two Indian darters (Anhinga melanogaster) at the Keoladeo National Park, Bharatpur. On opposite sides of a lake popular among darters for fishing, two were perched on trees and calling out loudly. Suddenly, they both dived and after coming close to each other, started fighting.

The presence of a tiger (Panthera tigris) is overpowering in a jungle. Shot at the Jim Corbett National Park, the first tiger walked down the side of a stream. On the other side was a herd of deer. It took a while but this was the moment when a predator and prey looked at each other.
