The United Nations (UN) brings together 193 member states to work towards world peace and equality. Artist N.S. Harsha symbolises this cooperation in his new exhibition entitled ‘Charming Journey’ and its main installation called Nations. He’s taken as many Usha sewing machines as the number of UN member-states, calico prints of their flags pinned underneath the needles of each of the machines. All 193 machines are connected by threads, symbolising the connected nature of the world we live in—a message very relevant in our increasingly divided world. The installation is a part of an exhibition that started at Mori Art Museum in Tokyo on February 4 and will continue till June 11. See more at mori.art.museum.
