Telangana State–s first year celebration kicks off

It’s already a year since India’s youngest state Telangana was born. A week-long celebration, starting June 1, will mark the event. There will be fireworks at the crack of midnight on June 2, followed by a host of cultural performances by local artists, parades, literary events, film shows, exhibitions and workshops. The birthday baby will also be giving away awards to 50 citizens for excellence in their respective fields. It’ll be quite a party, from all accounts.
