Flights late into the night, popularly known as ‘red-eye flights’, are generally preferred by fliers looking for economical rates or wanting to avoid spending a night in a hotel or those wanting to attend a business meet by day and return the same night. Keeping this trend in mind, SpiceJet has decided to introduce red-eye flights on the Delhi-Bengaluru sector from November 2, 2015. These flights will be operational four days in a week (including the weekend) SpiceJet’s new route, connecting Delhi and Nanded (Maharashtra) and operational twice a week, will also be a red-eye flight.
AirAsia India has announced that it is increasing the frequency of its flights operating from Delhi to Goa and Guwahati. Starting November 17, the airlines will operate three daily flights from Delhi to Goa and two daily flights from Delhi to Guwahati. The increase in Delhi-Goa frequency is a good news for those wanting to spend Christmas and New Year in Goa.
On the other hand, Vistara, the Tata-SIA joint venture, has decided to suspend its operations between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Earlier, it had reduced its daily double flights to one flight daily.
