The art historian and editor Philip Jodidio’s decision to look at architectural design in the context of consumption resulted in this gorgeously produced and thought-provoking book. He goes around the world, from Kobe to Turku, to showcase iconic restaurants, bars and boutiques featuring the designs of luminaries such as David Chipperfield, Peter Marino and Gary Card. There are interesting detours into David Lynch’s cinematic designs and Tom Dixon’s designs. It’s a fascinating peek into luxury and design.
