OT: Favourite hotel?
Anushka Sharma: Nothing can beat Ananda in the Himalayas (from Rs 18,000,
OT: Last visited and for how long?
Anushka Sharma: I visited it a year ago after hearing many good things about it, and it more than met my expectations. My work commitments allowed me only a week there but I had the time of my life.
OT: The experience?
Anushka Sharma: A short trip to Ananda was just the escape I needed from my hectic schedule. I fell in love with the location — nestled amid forested hills. It’s really the ambience, coupled with their focus on personalised Ayurvedic therapies, yoga and meditation sessions that sets Ananda apart. I also loved the Tibetan spa treatments, something you don’t find everywhere. I stayed in a valley-facing room — it was beautiful and peaceful. By the end of the week, I was totally rejuvenated.
OT: The food?
Anushka Sharma: I have very basic food habits, so food is not a big concern for me. Sometimes, just dal-chawal can make me very happy. In any case, when you go to Ananda, you don’t really worry about the food because the menus are designed to complement the whole spa experience, more specifically the package you opt for.
OT: Its USP?
Anushka Sharma: Now that’s a tough one, as I liked everything about the place. I loved the location and the ambience. The staff too was warm and took great care of me.
OT: Repeat visit and when?
Anushka Sharma: I would love to go there every chance I can, as the Ananda experience managed to instil some sanity into my crazy life. The moment I find my schedule getting hectic again, I’ll plot a trip there.
