Shravanabelagola: Day One of the Mahamastakabhisheka was chaotic. Jostling with photographers and TV crews, I slipped up to the top of the tower built around the Bahubali to facilitate the pouring of colour. Aiming towards the feet of the statue, I was able to capture this shot of poured colour and a solitary pilgrim standing out against the surreal landscape of red.

The crowds are on the Bahubali statue
Kolkata: Heralding the arrival of spring at Rabindra Bharati (Tagore's Kolkata home and now a university) is a huge affair which engulfs everyone. It was an experience to watch the Bengali spirit come alive amid all the colours, joy and vibrancy of spring.
Nizamuddin Dargah: In the pre-dawn hour, the dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia in Delhi had an absolute sense of peacefulness about it. The older imam was holding forth on devotion, just before the call to prayer. It was a serene and magical moment.
Kashmir: It was a cold drive from Pahalgam to Srinagar late one afternoon in November. I noticed this man trying to keep warm over a small fire, cocooned in the hollow of a giant tree. The sun was just setting, so I took a few photographs and continued on my way.
Bandhavgarh: No, this tiger did not kill the chital. He simply snatched it from a tigress and her three hungry cubs. I watched it all, my camera quite forgotten, until he disappeared towards a pool at the bottom of a ravine. Shielded as he was by overhanging elephant grass, I stood little chance of getting any worthwhile frames. But then he offered a fleeting glimpse. And I clicked.
