OT: What makes them top contenders?
Cindy Crawford: The Lowell because of its home-away-from-home vibe—[it is] in the centre of the action yet removed from the bustle. The Cove Atlantis because I cannot imagine my life without the sun, sand and surf!
OT: An upscale home, though, the Lowell?
Cindy Crawford: Yes! The Lowell is just a block up from Madison Avenue boutiques and its architecture is so elegantly understated. The pied-à-terre theme is extremely enchanting.
OT: And the Cove makes a lazy summer holiday, yes?
Cindy Crawford: The Cove Atlantis offers the complete ocean adventure opportunity actually—right from secluded beaches to the Dolphin Cay. The feeling of waking up to the sound of the ocean is something else, though. I love my barefoot strolls on the white sands and swimming in waters that are an unreal shade of turquoise. This place makes me lie back and imagine I am in heaven.
OT: What does ‘heaven’ have to eat?
Cindy Crawford: The thing to dig into would obviously be the seafood—you will be spoilt for choice. My favourite is the sushi at Nobu. And I can eat all I can because it is great to jog at the beach and work it off!
OT: And at the Lowell? Something to sip, perhaps?
Cindy Crawford: Their fresh fruit desserts are quite amazing, especially the strawberry and rhubarb pie. But well, I am not much of a foodie—I judge a place by its martini. The Pembroke Room in The Lowell does my martinis extremely well.
